TONIGHTS TUESDAY NIGHT DINNER RIDE
Oct. 24
GOING TO PRISON POKER RUN AND FREE BBQ LUNCH
Come out Saturday for a great cause- TO RIDE AND HAVE FUN! First bike out of Boswell's Fessler's Lane at 10 a.m., last bike out at 11 a.m. Poker Run is $5 per hand with 100% payout given to the best three hands. Buy as many hands as you want to play.
This event is open to all Boswell's H.O.G. chapters, customers, and other club's who have supported our annual Metro PD charity drive. The route is scenic, riding through northern Davidson County and ending at the old state prison where BBQ will be served by the hosts, volunteers from the Metro PD Christmas Basket Program.
The Tennessee State Prison was originaly built in the 1860's and has been home to numerous notorius "guests". This is a rare opportunity to tour the grounds of the historic Prison. Several notable movies have been filmed at the prison including The Green Mile. Bring your camera and have your picture taken beside the flag pole where Robert Redford was shot to end the movie, The Castle. We hear they are still looking for an escapee from long ago so ride cautiously past the Guard Towers as you enter...The ride ends at Cell Blocks C and D...scarey, historic, or both? You decide!
Why does the ride end at the prison? On Christmas eve morning the dining area at the the old prison serves as the commissary and staging area to deliver food and toys to over 200 underpriviledged children, families, shut-ins and some in hospice care. This is a major undertaking that is primarily funded by Music City and Rivergate Chapter volunteers, through our annual Toy Parade (11/7) and roadblocks (11/14)
Any questions? Just let us know!
